Rare Earth and its Wonderful Magnets!

At Radio Shack, they have these things called rare earth magnets.  They are small and exceptionally powerful.  Here's how you use them to save money.

First of all, think of the ability you would have to save money if you could just trade parts between the miniatures without screwing up paint jobs or involving crazy glue.  I, for instance, have a whole bunch of Eldar jet bikes because I play Saim Hann.  I also have a whole bunch of harlequin upper bodies and front plates for those bikes.  So, I ask you, wouldn't it be nice if the basic frame could serve for both my Saim Hann wild riders and my harlequins.  Well, that's not really that hard.  I put a rare earth magnet in the nose plates and on the upper torsoes of the riders.  Now I can drop the upper body of the harleqin onto the lower torso of the bikes riders and I can trade out the nose plates in order to play harlequins.

The same is true for dreadnought weapons, for terminator weapons, for anything.  Just trade in and out the parts rather than buying entirely new miniatures.  If you never play more than two dreadnoughts than you will never need to have more than two dreadnought bodies.  Do this right and your whirlwinds can serve equally well as razorbacks, can serve equally as well as rhinos.

You get the picture.

In order to properly take advantage of rare earth magnets, I recommend a Dremel.  Drill the hole like you were going to pin the miniature but glue in rare earth magnets instead.
